Are There Any People Who Should Receive Vitamin C in MegaDoses?

In poverty areas, almost 1/3 of the children living in such areas have low levels of vitamin C in their blood. Moreover, certain people are at risk to have a minimum intake or increased need for vitamin C: food faddists and adolescents who may totally avoid fruits and other high vitamin C foods, infants who are fed cow’s milk as the main source of nutrition in the first 6-12 months of life, children with malnutrition, and those who have cancer, frequent infections or illness. If your child fits into any of these categories, supplementation with vitamins may well be indicated.
